Domestic Violence

Experiences from a wartime military service can change how an individual feels and acts, notably returning Veterans from War Zones and Combat Experiences.

Should these experiences cause severe reactions and go on for some time without treatment, they can result in major problems within a domestic/family unit. Unfortunately, this can include behavior manifested in the form of Domestic Violence.

This can result in, amongst other serious issues:

  • Marriage or relationship problems
  • Parenting problems
  • Poor family functioning
  • Detriment to physical and emotional health

For immediate crisis intervention, please contact the New York State Domestic and Sexual Violence Hotline at 1.800.942.6906.
