The State Veterans Cemetery Selection Committee Public Meetings

The State Veterans Cemetery Selection Committee, appointed under Section 365 of New York State’s Executive Law, is responsible for determining the best site to house New York State’s first-ever State Veterans Cemetery.

In making this determination, the committee’s consideration shall, at a minimum, include:

(i) The findings established by the study of prospective sites authored by the NYS Division of Veterans’ Services;
(ii) The submitted responses to the requests for information issued pursuant to paragraph (a) of this subdivision;
(iii) The guidelines for receipt of federal funding specified in 38 USC 2408, 38 CFR 39, and any other relevant federal statute or regulation;
(iv) The possibility of funding from private individuals, corporations, or foundations; and
(v) Any other consideration that would facilitate the successful operation of the first state veterans’ cemetery.

DVS thanks the members of the Selection Committee for their loyal service, devoting the time and attention to detail necessary to ensure that the best possible site is chosen for this honored final resting place for New York’s heroes.

The State Veterans Cemetery Selection Committee shall hold public meetings on the following dates:

April 30
May 5
May 11
May 14
May 17
