Be a successful veteran

Understanding veteran benefits, programs and services has never been more important to New York's nearly 1 million veterans and their families. As a veteran aged 55+, you're part of the most sizeable veteran sub-populations within New York State. 84 percent of New York's veterans served during World War II, Korea or Vietnam. A full 78 percent of our veterans are aged 50 and beyond. And while many within this demographic go about their lives without problem, others struggle with changing healthcare and benefit needs and often overlook their earned veteran benefits as a potential source of assistance at this point in their lives.

The New York State Division of Veterans' Affairs wants to change this. Beginning in April, the Division is sponsoring a series of information seminars and benefit expos across New York State to promote greater understanding and use of veterans' benefits, programs and services. Drawing from our recent experience helping returning veterans secure their education benefits, we are applying some of the same techniques to draw in as many of our veterans aged 55+ and their families in to see us as possible.

To make sure you know when and where these regional information sessions and fair expos will be held we encourage you to keep checking back with us via our website (www.veterans.ny.gov) and the special link set up for veterans aged 55 and beyond. A complete calendar and agenda for these information seminars is provided below.
